Rattan and cane are not the same thing. Rattan is the solid vine used for the frame and thicker weave; cane is the outer bark split and woven into the tight web you often see on a chair back. Many of these chairs combine both — a rattan frame with a cane back panel — and come in natural, black and white finishes.

Comfort comes from the flex of the woven seat and a contoured or open back.
