Fixing an office safe down

A safe that is not fixed down can be carried out, and that is the single most common failure. Bolt it to the floor or into a stud wall where the product provides fixing points, and put it somewhere out of casual sight rather than beside the door.

Keep the combination or key somewhere other than the room the safe is in, and test the lock periodically rather than discovering a problem when you need it open. Change the factory code before you put anything in, which is the step most often skipped and the easiest to get right.
