Wood storage cabinets and how they look in a room

Anchoring and caring for a wood storage cabinet
Anchor anything tall to the wall before you load it, into a stud rather than drywall alone. A loaded top shelf pulls the weight forward, and that is what a wall fixing is there to resist.
Wipe along the grain with a barely damp cloth and dry straight away. Skip all-purpose sprays containing ammonia or silicone, which strip an oiled finish and haze a lacquered one. Keep the cabinet out of the direct path of a radiator, since wood moves with humidity. Adjustable shelves are worth setting for the tallest thing you store and working down from there, rather than leaving them evenly spaced and wasting the gap above every short item.
